CalypsoAI Announces National Security Advisory Board

Calypso AI, a leading start-up in AI security and validation, announced today the creation of its National Security Advisory Board. The Board will provide key advice on product, strategy, and growth opportunities and help Calypso AI bring security and transparency to AI platforms within the national security enterprise.

“Our advisors will provide us key feedback as we work to provide our mission critical customers with the capability to Build Secure, increase Testing and Evaluation of their AI systems and upskill their organizations to increase the use of AI,” says Tyler Sweatt, Head of National Security at Calypso AI. “We’re excited about bringing standards and transparency to the AI industry and our advisors will help us deliver where it matters most.”

Mr. Sweatt is the head of Calypso AI Labs, the start-up’s tailored applications and national security workshop. The Loudoun County, Virginia based lab is where the Calypso team conducts product R&D and develops cutting-edge AI security solutions for its national security customers and other enterprises looking for tailor-built applications to  ensure safety and security when operationalizing AI systems. 

The Advisory Board comprises individuals from a variety of leadership backgrounds within government, the private sector, and academia. Tony DeMartino will be the Chair. Mr. DeMartino is a Founding Partner at Pallas Advisors and most recently served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense and the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary of Defense. Previously, he served more than 20 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army. 

Other advisory board members are Kari Bingen, Sean Roche, Michael Molino, and Bob Eisiminger. Ms. Bingen recently served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security and was previously the Policy Director on the House Armed Services Committee. She is also a member of the Defense Science Board and a Non-Resident Senior Advisor at CSIS. Mr. Roche served as the Associate Deputy Director of Digital Innovation and spent over 30 years working missions ranging from R&D to clandestine operations at the Central Intelligence Agency. Mr. Molino is an Executive Vice President of corporate development at ARSC, where he leads the company’s mergers and acquisitions strategy. He has held roles at Leidos and SAIC and is a member of the Autonomy Study Group at the Army Science Board. Mr. Eisiminger was the Co-founder and CEO of cybersecurity firm Knight Point Systems, before selling the company to Perspecta in July 2019. He has been named a Distinguished Member of the West Point Society of DC and was named The EY Entrepreneur of the Year in Government Contracting for the Mid-Atlantic in 2019.
